I’ll be on vacation all next week. Thank the Lord Most High, because I need it like I can’t tell you.
And while it’s only three days of vacation, there’s more to it than that, and I end up being off for nine instead.
It’s nothing new for me. I do this every year. But I seem to need it more this year than in years past.
So, I can’t promise I’ll post anything next week. I’ll be holed up in front of my computer as much as possible, trying to create new words, doing my level best to crank that book one, the story formerly known (and seemingly beloved) as Ghost Hunters, into new life and publication-readiness.
No promises, of course, but doggone if I ain’t gonna try. And I’m not gonna think it through much either. I’m going to let the creative part of my mind work some art, and see what comes out. The next month or so will be spent getting it ready for public view. I don’t guess I’ll get many takers on beta reading around the holidays, and really, it’s not fair to ask. But I’ll circle back to my same beta readers for a new round of reads, if they’re willing. After the New Year, most likely.
And if I find the spark of creativity hits hard enough, well, I’ve got a few things in the works right now I can fall back on. There’s no shortage of stories to write. I just have to force myself to write them. Or, better, allow myself to write them. (Sorta ticks me off that I’m the only writer I know who needs to “give myself permissi0n” to write.)
Anyway, there will be many happy turkeys in our household, since we only have turkey for Thanksgiving once in a great while. However you celebrate the day, if you do, do so with a grateful heart and much rejoicing.
If we don’t talk beforehand, have a Happy Thanksgiving and God bless.
